At Manteca Vet, we will help you develop a complete geriatric health-maintenance program to keep your pet happy and healthy.
This program includes more frequent and possibly more extensive exams. Geriatric exams often involve tests on your pets blood and urine. Other tests may be recommended.

Don't write off signs of illness as the aging process!
Let us know if you see any changes in:
-Activity level
-Attitude
-Appetite
-Water intake
-Urination
-Bowel movements
-Body Weight
Even if your pet seems perfectly healthy, frequent exams are necessary for early detection of the changes and illnesses associated with aging.
The aging process varies with breed and lifestyle. Additional annual screening for diseases and other age-related problems should begin at age seven for most cats and small to medium sized dogs. Large and giant dogs are considered "senior" earlier in life and should be screened as early as five or six.
By working together to give your senior pet the regular care it needs, you give them the best chance to live a long, happy life with you!
